The History Lesson: We've been brewing our robust American Porter since 1916. A beer with enough backbone to carry us through Prohibition and beyond. Narragansett Brewing received one of only six patents granted by the U.S. government to brew this beer for "medicinal purposes" from 1920 - 1933. These days, whether you call it `Gansett Dark like some old time local fishermen, or just plain Porter, you'll love this hardy and deliciously nuanced brew. It's not winter in New England unless you're enjoying a Narragansett Porter.
