Weekend Recap: Comedy And Music At The Spot
The Gansett Girls love their tall boys. That's why they were at The Spot Underground on Friday night in Providence. It was comedy night featuring local celebrity Ben Hague. It was absolutely a hilarious night. Here's more on Ben. Here begins our journey into the slightly twisted mind of Ben Hague, one of the hottest young talents on the comedy scene today. Always looking to be the center of attention, and born with the gift of gab (often funny gab), Ben decided to start a career path in the business of show. After attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC, he began his comedy career at the age of 21 in Los Angeles. Ben's first stand-up performance was at the world famous Laugh Factory on Sunset Boulevard. Since then, he has shared the stage with such stars as Dane Cook, Dave Attel, Louis CK, Robert Klein, Jeffrey Ross, Gilbert Gottfried and many others. Ben was a finalist in the Orange County Laff Down and Orange County California's funniest person 2004 & 2005, respectively. Closer to home, Ben recently won the Catch A "New" Rising Star competition in his home state of Rhode Island. He headlines comedy clubs throughout the US, and has performed at over 50 Colleges nationally. In 2009 Ben won a spot on FOX Providence's The Rhode Show. Since he joined the show's ratings have jumped in 2010, and Ben has become the staple of the show. He seems to fit in perfectly as the funny voice of reason that you don't mind waking up to. He has now moved on to the #1 radio show in Providence, and is the hilarious voice on the "Giovanni and Kim Show" for 92.3 WPRO FM. Deep down he wishes he could juggle, speak to dolphins, and have X-ray vision. Hague has also been overheard at bar's telling women he wrote and produced the soundtrack to Mama Mia.
