The newly-opened Olde School Saloon and Bistro (418 State St.; 203-772-0544, oldeschoolsaloonandbistro.com) nods to New Haven nostalgia with its vintage copper-top bar, historical Hull’s Beer signs, 1946 beer cooler and play-your-own vinyl record collection. On the Saloon side, you’ll find comfort food (corned beef, $6; truffled Parmesan fries, $6), while the Bistro boasts fine dining (arugula ravioli, $17; filet mignon with Gorgonzola and lobster-stuffed potato skins, $26). Breakfast (with grab-and-go options) starts at 7 a.m., Mon.-Fri.; lunch is 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on weekdays; dinner’s served Tue.-Thu., 5-9 p.m. (until 10 p.m. on Fri.-Sat.), and the Saloon rocks Mon.-Thu., 11:30-1 a.m. (until 2 a.m. on Fri.-Sat.) and Sun. from 1-9 p.m
