LostInTheBeerAisle.com's Review of Narragansett Summer Ale
OMFG! It’s been a week since i reviewed any beer. How lazy have I been? Unacceptable! Back on the horse tonight with some FREE BEER. WOOOOT!
When I came home today I found two tall boys of Narragansett Summer Ale had been delivered. Saweeeeeet!
The beer pours a light golden color with decent head and lacing. At first sip, I’m thinking blonde for a style. Reading the can I realize it’s actually a pale ale...a summer pale ale...interesting.
Right out of the fridge the tastes are piney. As the brew warms, more of the citrus flavor prevails. There’s a subtle buttery/malty backbone to help balance it out. My initial reaction was that the hops were not going to work for me. By the time I was 3/4 the way through the first tallboy I realized I was starting to enjoy the brew.
I’m still on the fence, however I highly recommend the beer that those of you who like hoppy beers. I bet you’ll find it to be a mild and refreshing summer ale, slightly different than others out there.
