Newport Art Museum's Fourth Fridays

Unwind at the end of your work week with conversation, cocktails and live music in galleries filled with outstanding artwork! Live music from theWANDAS so start Neighbor Day weekend off right!

TheWANDAS are a talented up and coming act that has burst onto the local music scene. Hailing from the Boston area, the group won the 95.5 WBRU "Rock Hunt" last April, gaining them a year of local radio play. The Weekly Digs said of theWANDAS, "The four-piece group theWANDAS separate themselves from the large pack of Boston pop bands with a tightly designed, smart sound. Besides the production from Patrick Krief (of The Dears) and the mastering of Ryan Morey (The Stills, Arcade Fire), the vocals from Keith McEachern and friends are a delight." When listing their influences, the group does not list individual artists but instead specific albums that have had an impact on their music, among these are: The Bends,Pinkerton,Rubber Soul,First Impressions of Earth,Gang of Losers,Definitely Maybe,Being there, and Rumours. TheWANDAS themselves have released a few albums including 2009's New Wave Blues, which they have been touring the country to promote.
