The number two finisher in our ranking is Narragansett Light, a product of the revived Narragansett Brewing Co. of Rhode Island, brewed under contract at Genesee Brewing Co. in Rochester, NY.
Narragansett Light was the biggest surprise of the evening. Our tasters were expecting another knock-off subpremium
light, and this is anything but. It’s got a big, clean aroma, and a firm, crisp malt body. This beer is actually priced at premium through most of its package range, although the 16-oz can package has been priced at sub-premium to build traction. Narragansett Light is definitely worth seeking out, although it is currently available only in New England and Florida.
"Big creamy white head, this is a good-looking beer in the glass," said Robert Lachman.
"Great fresh aroma, very creamy," said Greg Zannella.
"It’s got a more aroma than I expected, a creamy corniness, very lagery," said Gregg Glaser.
"Slight citrusy flavor," said Robert L. "It finishes dry and then it’s gone."
"Malty flavor," Greg Z. added. "It definitely has more flavor and body than some of the others, and there is a lingering tingle from the C02 that bubbles on your tongue."
