Jacob Wirth's
31-37 Stuart St.
Boston, MA

"A legendary Boston institution" is what you first read when visiting Jacob Wirth's.
Dating back to 1868, the restaurant moved across the street to its current location on Stuart St in 1878 where it's remained ever since. Jacob Wirth came to America via Kreuznach, Prussia, the son of a family of wine growers.
Wine you say? Well it seems that's where the two split off, as Jacob Wirth was one of the original 6 founders of the Narragansett Brewing Company, which was founded in 1890. The bar itself, has some of the coolest 'Gansett memorabilia on public display. From one of the original Narragansett Brewery bricks, to an old brewery lithograph, you just know what you're supposed to order...a 'Gansett draft of course (or as they call it Jake's Light). Besides the great history and lineage between Narragansett and Mr. Wirth, the establishment also boasts some of the best and most original German cuisine this side of Frankfurt. Tasty pretzels, Wiener Schnitzel, Wurst plates, are mixed in with an array of American classics, like hamburgers and steak tips.
