Toast the season with Narragansett Fest

New in the beer fridge and on tap is a seasonal brew from Narragansett Beer.
Narragansett Fest is an Oktoberfest sold in six-packs of 16-ounce cans and on draft. It’s the first canned craft beer from the company since it was revived five years ago.
The beer was brewed under the supervision of brew master Sean Larkin (of Trinity Brewhouse) at Cottrell Brewery in Pawcatuck, Conn., and High Falls Brewery in Rochester, N.Y.
It’s a traditional amber-brown German Oktoberfest-style beer. It has four varieties of malts and two styles of hops. It is 5.5 percent alcohol by volume.
Founded by a group of eight German immigrants, Narragansett’s Cranston Rhode Island brewery held elaborate annual events to celebrate Oktoberfest up until the 1970s. King Gambrinus, the Patron Saint of Beer ’ who is featured on the 1940s-style classic Fest packaging ’ also stood as a statue welcoming guests to the Narragansett brewery for decades.
Find Narragansett fest on tap at the Wild Colonial, Hot Club and The Abbey in Providence; Mews Tavern, Wakefield; Doherty’s East Ave. Café and Celtic Pub in Pawtucket; Pour Judgment, Newport; The Watchemoket Bar, East Providence; Cady’s Tavern, Glocester; and Track 84, Warwick.
The six-packs are available in liquor stores throughout Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts for $7.99.
