Everyman - A Rhode Island Bistro, 311 Iron Horse Way, Providence, RI 02908, (401) 751-3630
Everyman opened their doors a little over a year ago and has been serving Rhode Island favorites ever since. After all they are a Rhode Island Bistro. As part of the ALCO building, American Locomotive Works, in Providence they aren't your typical clam shack. But with traditional fare of clam cakes and chowder, we just had to include them. They use Narragansett lager in the clam cake batter recipe. And owner, Leah Reynolds even uses her mother's RI clam chowder recipe which she claim she'll never tell. In addition to great local food, Everyman also showcases local art and music. Rotation quarterly a new local artist has the opportunity to display and sell his or her work in the restaurant. Entertainment ranges from open mic nights to live acts like Superchief Trio and The Waylanders. You can get down to their DJ dance parties on Friday nights and relax with dinner and jazz on Saturday evenings. This past summer, Everyman held outdoor concerts on the green featuring Providence's own The Cobramatics and The Agents. Music, art, 'Gansett and clams. What's not to love? They are open seven days a week and offer plenty of free parking. That's a luxury in the capital city. So visit EverymanRI.com for more info.
