Quite possibly one of the finest group of musicians to call Rhode Island home, Deer Tick has been blowing up in the past few years. We first saw them live in 2008 at small bar in Providence called Jake's which featured Gansett on tap at the time. That bar is now gone, but Deer Tick has since put out 2 more full lengths, 2 EP's, and toured extensively with bands like Neko Case and Dawes. We again had the pleasure of checking out their performance at the 2009 Newport Folk Fest right before Iron & Wine. Now we once again get to see them live at the next WBRU Summer Concert Series this Friday night at Waterplace Park. Local band makes it big and now their next home show is FREE! Get there early because it will be packed. Show starts at 7:30 and we're sure the Gansett beer garden will be slammed with thirsty fans.
